Yet another challenging year is nearing its end. We all secretly hope all our troubles will magically disappear with New Year knocking on our door… Unfortunately, we are painfully aware that unicorns aren’t real, and that we might be in for a longer ride. But there’s a silver lining to everything: haven’t we all become more proficient in all things digital? Haven’t we felt this period, although really difficult at times, was also very stimulating? And, once again, haven’t we proven to ourselves that, working together, we take whatever life throws at us?

Since life keeps throwing, we have to keep catching! Therefore, we cordially invite you to join us for our online workshops and talks that will help you face the year that is to come with a fresh (and jolly!) perspective. Keep your spirits high, get inspired and catch the Christmas bug!

Tina Lee Odinsky-Zec: Visual Notetaking (18:00 – 18:50)

Let's help your learners engage with some genius tools, tips and tricks. We need to activate the imagination turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Explore ways to transport readers and listeners into more immersive experiences by combining the stories shared with their own powerful word and image associations.

Ivana Kirin: Learner Autonomy: The Final Frontier (18:55 – 19:25)

The classroom is a starship and the students are the crew. Go on a voyage with Ivana to explore (the ever so elusive?) learner autonomy, to seek out their independence through teaching them about learning strategies and to boldly go where few teachers have dared go before! Well, we have dared. The question is: What was our voyage like…

Marinko Uremović: The Anatomy of a Listening Task (19:30 – 20:00)

We can surely all agree that listening practice is vital when learning any language. In this workshop, we will scrub up and dissect the listening task in order to see its components. We will x-ray it to see what makes it so difficult. Finally, we’ll prescribe learning tips for our students, so we can discharge them with passing grades.
