At the end of this particularly challenging year, we invite you to take the opportunity to pause and reflect on all the novelties and changes it has brought about, and to face the year that is to come with a fresh perspective.

But hark! Apart from the traditional workshops that our brilliant English teachers, elt experts, textbook authors and creative geniuses have in store for you, we bring you something different as well! As Christmas is a time for sharing, we invite you to join the discussion – we would be thrilled if you would share your expertise and experiences with us. How to assess, evaluate, enthral, engage, inspire? These are only some of the questions you will help us find an answer to.

  3. 9:15 – 10:15 Lucija Barišić Have a Voice in Your Voice One of the many tools teachers use daily are their voices. But how do we take care of this precious instrument? In an altogether uplifting atmosphere, find out how not to have a frog in your throat.
  4. 10:15 – 11:00 Marijana Vučić Should Testing Be Left to Testers? I Think Not! A light-hearted, back-to-basics workshop, with a short overview of test and task types. We are going to have a look at a range of examples that were designed well (we’ll discuss why) and see some that need improvement (we’ll discuss how)! Daška Domljan & Ankica Knezović Oldies but Goldies  Flashcards, drama and beyond – why not revisit some bulletproof classroom activities and think of some new ones together? 
  5. 11:15 – 12:45 elt World Café Creating Stimulating Learning Environment Mix and mingle while sipping tea and coffee – assessment and other burning educational questions are less frightful (and a tad bit more delightful) in a cosy Christmas atmosphere!  
  6. 12:55 -13:30 Quiz time Unleash your knowledge of Christmas trivia and you’ll be on song! As always, fab prizes and eternal glory included!

About the speakers

  • Lucija Barišić is an actress, voice actress and singer, an expressive genius and a complete bundle of joy who believes in the Spirit of Christmas but also suffers from mild OCD when it comes to decorating Christmas trees. 
  • Marijana Vučić is a testing enthusiast, a good listener and a firm believer in personal responsibility. She boasts an impressive collection of Christmas ornaments gathered during her travels, just so that she has multiple choice when decorating. Having worked with teachers for over twenty years, she knows that the key to success is working together and learning from one another. 
  • Daška Domljan and Ankica Knezović are well-known and experienced teachers, presenters, and textbook authors. This dynamic duo is bubbling with ideas and enthusiasm, believes sharing is caring and loves spreading Christmas cheer in their workshops!
