Let's build a story!

Saving the forest

by Kaya Latas, grade 5

Once, not so long ago, there was a scientist who didn't like nature at all. he was unhappy, old man who lived all by himself. then, one day he made a mind controlling potion to brain wash his workers to cut all the trees in the forest. he gave them the potion and they immediately started to destroy everything in front of them. there was a young fox living there, and of course, it was really sad to see its home being destroyed. but, the fox went on a journey to alert the others from the other part of the forest. after traveling for almost a day, it had finally came to its destination. in that part of the forest, there were a young boy, a young girl, a bear and a rabbit. they were all so happy to meet the fox, but it wasn't quite the time to play. they all sat down and the fox   told them what was happening, so the boy took his binoculars and saw it with his own two eyes. they knew that they had to do something about it. the bear and the rabbit came to a brilliant idea. they took some costumes from a chest that was in their forest house and went on an adventure to find the one who had caused the destruction and save the forest. after three days and three nights of travelling and searching, they finally found a cave. they saw strange lights and heard strange noises coming from the cave, so they entered it carefully, looking around just in case if that was an ambush. when they came to the end of the cave, they saw a scientist and his table was full of papers, potions and much more. the scientist tried to run away, but it was too late. he was surrounded and without hesitating, he surrendered and told all of his workers to go home. not long after that, the scientist   retired and was no longer to be seen nor heard anywhere. fifty years later, the boy who then was an old, grown up man found a photo album. he sat in his armchair and looked at his memories, thinking of how years went by.
